Sontronics Named Finalist in Two Categories at the 2027 NAMM TEC Awards
Poole, UK, September 24, 2026 – British microphone manufacturer Sontronics has been named a finalist in two categories at the 2027 NAMM TEC Awards, with ARIA 2 and SOLO W1 both receiving recognition ahead of The NAMM Show in January.
ARIA 2 has been shortlisted in the Microphones – Recording category, while SOLO W1 is a finalist in Microphones – Sound Reinforcement, giving Sontronics recognition across both studio recording and live performance.
The TEC Awards celebrate achievement across professional audio, recognising the products, technologies and people helping to move the industry forward. Having two microphones represented across separate categories marks a significant moment for Sontronics and the latest generation of products being designed, developed and hand-built by its team in England.
Two microphones, two very different applications
ARIA 2 is Sontronics’ second-generation valve condenser microphone and the successor to the original ARIA. Developed for vocals and instruments in the studio, ARIA 2 introduces increased sensitivity, lower self-noise and improved stability while continuing the philosophy behind one of Sontronics’ most established studio microphones.
At the other end of the microphone spectrum, SOLO W1 takes Sontronics into wireless live performance. Based around the company’s SOLO supercardioid dynamic microphone, the interchangeable capsule has been designed to be compatible with Shure handheld wireless systems, allowing performers to bring the SOLO sound to their existing wireless setup.
While the two microphones have been designed for very different environments, both share the same approach to design and manufacturing that sits at the heart of Sontronics. Each is designed, developed and hand-built in England by the Sontronics team.

The winners of the 2027 TEC Awards will be announced at The NAMM Show in Anaheim in January 2027, where Sontronics will also be exhibiting.
Visitors will be able to meet the Sontronics team, get hands-on with both TEC Award finalists and explore microphones from across the Sontronics range.
