Krotos Studio Announces May Update Featuring New Sci-Fi Sound Presets and Sound Design Contest

Edinburgh, Scotland, May 7th, 2024 — In recognition of Star Wars Day, Krotos, a leader in sound design software, has released a Sci-Fi content update for Krotos Studio. The software, which utilizes AI to enhance the efficiency of sound production, is designed for use across multiple industries, including filmmaking, audio production, game design, and content creation. This update introduces a new preset library inspired by Star Wars and a Sci-Fi themed sound design contest, offering users new tools to craft audio and an opportunity to showcase their skills.

The May update introduces 12 new presets inspired by Star Wars, ranging from the whir of rolling droids to the electrifying sounds of dark lightning. These presets offer users the ability to create immersive futuristic audio landscapes reminiscent of the iconic sounds that have captivated Star Wars fans for decades.

Concurrently, Krotos launches a Sci-Fi sound design contest, inviting users to flex their creative muscles using the latest presets. Entrants stand a chance to win a DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone or one of five Elgato Stream Deck Neos. Participants are encouraged to submit their soundscapes through social media or directly via the contest page, with multiple entries welcomed to boost their winning chances.

How to Participate:

  1. Create: Use Krotos Studio to design sounds for a sci-fi themed clip. Contestants can find the video clips available for download on the contest page, using either the newly released presets or any existing sounds from Krotos Studio.
  2. Submit: Share your designs on social media with the hashtags #madewithkrotos and #scifikrotos, or upload your entries through our website.

  • Runners-Up: Five Elgato Stream Deck Neos

The competition will conclude on May 28, 2024, with winners to be announced on May 31, 2024. The contest provides an opportunity for participants to engage with Krotos Studio's latest features through the creation of detailed and dynamic soundscapes.

"We are excited to see how the Star Wars-inspired sounds and the competition ignite the creativity of sound designers and enthusiasts around the world," says Rob Lough, Head Of Growth at Krotos.
