REDI Acoustics is Awarded United States Utility Patent, Inventing Process for Optimization of Acoustical Design to Improve Audio Perception
New patent ushers in a new era of acoustic accountability, while expanding REDI Acoustics' services offerings to a range of industries and customers
Highland, NY, January 19, 2026 — REDI Acoustics has been awarded a utility patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for inventing a "method for iterative, multi-objective optimization of acoustical design to improve audio perception." The patent, which was filed on May 15th and awarded on December 16, 2025, will enable REDI acoustics to bridge physical acoustics with digital workflows—creating significant opportunities for integration, licensing, co-development, and platform expansion.
A predictive technology platform, not just an acoustic solution
REDI Acoustics’ patented approach transforms acoustic design from a reactive process into a forward-looking, model-based system, enabling accurate predictions before a space is built. The method comprises two optimization steps: a multi-objective room geometric optimization method applicable to any environment and a multi-objective treatment optimization method that searches a library of potential acoustic treatments to determine optimal solutions for each accessible area. Both of these steps are iterative and use advance AI processing, allowing multiple solutions to be viewed and ultimately displayed in order of preferred solution data sets.
The method utilizes a multi-objective search engine to simultaneously optimize several critical acoustic metrics, including low-frequency response, spatial variation around listening positions, early reflections, modal temporal decay, and mid-to-high-frequency reverberation time. The integration of both optimization methods provides comprehensive acoustic control across the entire audible spectrum.
Expanded services built on patented methodologies
With this patent secured, REDI Acoustics is formally expanding its service offerings for both traditional clients and technology partners. Service areas of focus for the company in the coming months and years are to include:
- Predictive acoustic modeling and analysisPatented methods enable high confidence forecasting of room behavior, reducing uncertainty for architects, engineers, and developers.
- Software-enabled acoustic design workflowsThrough its ROCS™ platform, cloud-based acoustic modeling, documentation, and performance tracking, designed for scalability and integration for any rectangularly designed space.
- R&D collaboration with technology companiesCollaboration with software developers, hardware manufacturers, and research teams to embed acoustic intelligence into next-generation products and platforms.

"We are very proud to have secured this utility patent, which will create greater accountability in acoustic engineering, historically missing from the field. By uniting rigorous research with deployable digital tools, the company enables acoustics to function as a true engineering system—one that can be integrated, scaled, and evolved alongside modern technology stacks." said Peter D'Antonio, lead acoustician for REDI Acoustics. "This is where acoustics meets computation, and that intersection is where the next decade of innovation will happen.”
