Lighting Control Software SoundSwitch Announces Version 2.9 with Auto BPM Detection and Enhanced Autoloop Features

Cumberland, RI, USA, August 27, 2024 — SoundSwitch, a leading innovator in lighting control software for live music and DJ performances, has released version 2.9 of its flagship software. Known for its ability to create automatic, beat-synced light shows for popular DJ software like Serato, Virtual DJ, and Engine DJ, SoundSwitch is now expanding its capabilities with the introduction of Auto BPM Detection. This latest feature allows users to sync lighting with any audio source, making it an indispensable tool for live bands, DJs using unsupported software, and venues with mixed audio setups.

Key Features:

Auto BPM Detection

  • The new BPM Detection feature allows users to connect any audio source to SoundSwitch. The software will detect the BPM in real-time and use it for Autoloops playback, enabling seamless syncing of lighting with audio from DJ software not currently supported by SoundSwitch or streaming services like Spotify. This can be achieved using a USB audio interface, a built-in microphone, or a virtual audio cable.

Enhanced Autoloop Features

  • Increased Autoloop Capacity: SoundSwitch 2.9 increases the number of available Autoloops from 32 to 128, providing four banks of 32 Autoloops for greater control and more dynamic light shows.
  • Edit Mode Enhancements: Users can now rearrange the order of Autoloops, duplicate Autoloops for more efficient editing, and auto-populate empty Autoloop slots to maximize the use of all 128 Autoloops.
  • Performance Mode Enhancements: SoundSwitch 2.9 introduces improved visual feedback for active Autoloops and enhanced MIDI feedback on the Control One device, ensuring users can easily identify active Autoloops during performances. Autoloops can now be triggered even over a scripted track, offering greater control during playback.

UI and Connection Enhancements

  • Connection Status Indicator: SoundSwitch 2.9 features new UI indicators for monitoring the connection status with DJ software and DMX interfaces, providing clearer and more reliable performance environments.
  • Akai MIDI Feedback: The update also aligns Akai MIDI Feedback with the new software improvements, adding support for the APC Mini MKII.
