Anaheim, CA, April 14, 2023 — Hummingbird Media announced that seven of its clients won TEC Awards in eight separate categories during the 2023 TEC Awards, held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California last night. Hummingbird clients including Solid State Logic, WSDG, Sennheiser, Neumann, L-Acoustics, Eventide and Mojave Audio were among the companies that scooped top honors in the following categories:

  • AMPLIFICATION HARDWARE / STUDIO & SOUND REINFORCEMENT (L-Acoustics)
  • CONSOLE TECHNOLOGY (Solid State Logic)
  • HEADPHONE / EARPIECE TECHNOLOGY (Neumann)
  • MICROPHONES - RECORDING (Mojave Audio)
  • SIGNAL PROCESSING HARDWARE (Solid State Logic)
  • SIGNAL PROCESSING SOFTWARE (DYNAMICS / EQ / UTILITIES) (Eventide)
  • WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY (Sennheiser)
  • STUDIO DESIGN PROJECT (WSDG)

Solid State Logic
won in two highly competitive categories including Console Technology and Signal Processing Hardware, for its ORIGIN 32 channel in-line analogue console and THE BUS+ compressor respectively. ORIGIN delivers sonic excellence and advanced workflow at a price point that is truly revolutionary, and THE BUS+ is a 2U rack unit that builds on the original bedrock design of the Bus Compressor, which first appeared on SSL's 4000 B console in 1976.

Sennheiser won in the Wireless Technology category for its XS Wireless IEM, a wireless system designed for the rigors of the small stage. The product features a reliable, comprehensive design, and operates in the professional-grade UHF range using pre-defined frequency banks.

Neumann captured the Headphone / Earpiece technology with its NDH 30, a reference-class, open back studio headphone for the most demanding mixing and mastering applications in both stereo and immersive formats.

WSDG was recognized in the Studio Design Project category for its design of the Spotify at Meteo facility in Los Angeles, an immersive, facility and campus with every aspect of music and podcast production, post-production, and performance under one roof.

Mojave Audio was recognized for its MA-37 microphone, designed by Technical Grammy Award Winner and industry legend David Royer. A modern take on the classic Sony C-37a, the microphone is known for its high headroom and ability to tame brittle high end.

Eventide's SplitEQ™ is a groundbreaking EQ that offers a fundamentally new approach to corrective and creative audio equalization from the legendary effects manufacturer. It excels at Repairing, Rebalancing, Enhancing, and Widening any musical source or audio signal. SplitEQ is both a surgical tool for fixing particularly nasty problems and a creative tool as it opens up exciting new musical possibilities.

L-Acoustics' LA7.16i surmounts the limitations of current high-power amplifier configurations used in most installation projects. Improving flexibility and efficiency, especially in multi-channel scenarios, LA7.16i is a lower cost-per-channel solution, consuming 30% less energy when idle. LA7.16i has a distinctive 16×16 architecture in a 2U chassis with seamless Milan-AVB redundancy.
