Alan R Pearlman Foundation and synthCube Present ARPs and Beyond

October 3 program culminates Kristina Warren’s 2026 artist residency with a participatory workshop and evening audiovisual performance

Waltham, Mass., Oct. 1, 2026 — The Alan R. Pearlman Foundation and synthCube will present ARP-s & Beyond on Saturday, Oct. 3, an afternoon and evening of hands-on exploration and live electronic performance celebrating the culmination of sound artist, composer and performer Kristina Warren’s 2026 Artist-in-Residence program. The events will take place at synthCube, which serves musicians and synthesizer enthusiasts with modules, DIY kits and resources designed to support hands-on creativity and exploration. Executive Director of the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation, Dina Pearlman-Ifil and other members of the Foundation will be attending the event and available to answer questions about the residency program as well as the Back-to-School fundraiser that is currently underway.

Based in Providence, Rhode Island Warren’s work ranges from synthesizer voyages and digital soundscapes to concertina meditations, installations, workshops and lectures, with a focus on the ebbs and flows of individual and collective listening attention. Warren’s work has been presented internationally, and she previously served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Electronic Music and Multimedia at Brown University.

"I have had a tremendously inspiring sonic experience as the 2026 ARP Foundation Artist-in-Residence, from recording with the vintage instruments at TRC, to performing on the ARP @ 100 concert at Berklee, to working with Peter Edwards to develop this two-part, ARP-centric workshop+concert event at SynthCube on October 3," said Warren. "Before this year my ARP experience was limited to the 2500, but through this residency I've been thrilled to learn much more about the vast collaborative and creative potential of all the ARP instruments!"

The program begins at 3 p.m. with The Art of Rest, a hands-on, exploratory workshop featuring ARP instruments and other synthesizers. Co-facilitated by Warren and Peter Edwards of Casper Electronics, the session will use sound and conversation to invite participants into a shared exploration of listening, attention and rest.

Edwards is a synthesizer engineer, product developer, artist and musician working under the name Casper Electronics. He creates sounds, instruments and experiences through electronics, collaborates with Bastl Instruments, and contributes to audio plugin development for Soundtoys. His background includes electroacoustics, instrument design, sculpture and performance.

At 7 p.m., ARP-s & Beyond continues with solo performances by Warren and Edwards, appearing as Casper, with visuals by Defty D. Together, the artists will transform the space into an immersive audiovisual experience grounded in experimentation and the expansive possibilities of electronic sound.

“Our residency program is about giving artists meaningful time with these instruments and then opening that creative exchange back to the community,” said Dina Pearlman, Executive Director of the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation. “Kristina’s work shows how synthesis can open new ways of listening. We are thrilled to celebrate her residency with Peter, Defty D and the synthCube community.”

Guests are welcome to attend either event or both. A contribution of $10 to $20 is recommended for each event, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Event information is available at synthcube.com/event-calendar.
